Sejal Ceramics
A handmade ceramics brand ready to stop relying on Etsy and sell through its own Shopify store. This was the first time Sejal had ever spent money on growing her brand, and I’m so honoured she trusted me with it.
Sejal didn’t want a new website. She wanted the one she’d built herself to start selling.
Her brand has been doing well for a few years, but most of the sales came through Etsy. She rightly wanted to move them to her own site, which she’d set up herself on a free Shopify theme.
With a limited budget and no appetite for a rebuild, she was the perfect candidate for Website Botox. I call it that because it isn’t an expensive, invasive makeover. It’s a tweakment: a few hours of work that still makes a massive difference to your website (or your forehead wrinkles, in this metaphor).
Same theme, different job
The site followed the Shopify template closely. It looked fine, but it was built like a portfolio, not a shop. Drag the handle to compare the homepage before and after.

Seven tweaks, no rebuild

A hero that sells
The banner used to ask visitors to follow her on Instagram. Now it shows off one star product with copy that makes people curious: “The 30-second reset your evenings are missing”, with a Shop Now button.
A category spotlight, not “Most Popular”
The homepage now features the category drawing the most interest, with its own story and animated product tiles.
Reviews that move
A static wall of italic text became an animated slider. It adds movement and makes each review easier to take in.
Meet the maker
Sejal wasn’t on the homepage at all. Now a section introduces her as the artist behind every piece. With handmade, the maker is half the product.
A menu built for shopping
The navigation was set up like a portfolio. I reshuffled her collections into a proper Shop menu and cleared out old sold-out products that were cluttering the collection pages.
Details in an accordion
Packaging, shipping and care are the same for every piece, so they now live in one accordion on every product page. I also changed the image layout so it’s easier to browse.
04. Personalise it on the page
Type the name, add to basket
Personalised pieces are what people come to Sejal for. So the option to personalise now lives right on the product page, next to the button, and customers add the name as they order.
- A Personalised Text field sits under the colour and motif options, where the decision is being made
- The character limit is spelled out underneath, so nobody orders a name that won’t fit
“I love the changes you’ve made to the site! Thank you again for your time and advice, you’ve been great!”

Your store is pretty. Is it selling?
If you built your Shopify store yourself and it looks lovely but doesn’t sell like it should, Website Botox is where I’d start. We fix what’s costing you sales, and you keep the site you already have.
A conversion audit plus targeted tweaks to copy, structure, custom sections and apps. Not a new website.
